NGC 2997 face-on spiral in Antila. L 6hrs. RGB 2hrs each. Zooming in to individual pixels, you will see that the nucleus of 2997 is most unusual, with a tiny bright orange dot for the core, plus three tiny bright blue star-forming regions around it. The surroundings are rather lonely and less rewarding, but with persistence you can count about 70 tiny background galaxies, some with recognizable form. Aspen 16M on PlaneWave 20" CDK on MI-750.
