Sombrero galaxy M104 in Corvus.
Luminance 5.5 hrs, RGB 45 mins each. Note (a) the generally warm colour expected of an elliptical galaxy with a young spiral embedded in it. (b) The huge halo, consistent with the above. (c) The tiny, almost stellar core. These last two are easy to miss if one uses too much contrast, as the outer halo is lost, while the core blows out and looks bigger.
Aspen CG16M on 20 inch PlanWave. 15 minute subs to avoid burning out the core. All processing with our own GoodLook 64.
