NGC 2997 in Antlia. A close examination of the nucleus shows four separate blue cores, a kind of mini galactic trapezium. A hunt around will reveal quite a few very small background galaxies.
Detail from 4 hours clear filter, on a night of for-us-very-good (2 sec arc) seeing, and colour from 2 hrs each 2x2 binned R, G, and B, on a shocking night with stars jumping out of their guide boxes. In the morning we realized we'd been photographing through thickish altostratus.
