A deep view of NGC 5128, processed to bring out the relativistic jet from the central black hole. The jet heads off toward top left. Two parts of the jet are apparent. Firstly, a string of blue beads inside the main part of the halo. Secondly, a much fainter, more complex, shower of both red and blue components occupying much of the extreme top left, toward about eleven o'clock from centre, and reaching to the top edge of the frame. The red is more diffuse, the blue more in brighter isolated clumps.
Lum: 16hrs in 1hr subs. RGB: 15 hrs total in 30 min subs. Aspen CG16M on 20" PlaneWave. All processing using our in-house GoodLook 64.
