Antennae, 24 hours
The Antennae are a pair of colliding galaxies on the Corvus-Crater border. Long tidal tails are visible. The original spiral structure has been totally destroyed, and a ring of intense star formation triggered.

As usual, all scope and observatory robotics, acquisition and processing software designed/built/written by us.
Lum: 12 hrs in 30 min subs. RGB: 4 hrs per channel.
Close inspection of the background will reveal countless distant galaxies, including at least two pairs which also show strong interaction and tidal tails.
