NGC 288 in Sculptor. A lonely globular cluster near the south galactic pole. Unlike its big brothers and sisters, it's easy to resolve stars right to the core. Note the distant face-on spiral galaxy shining through the outskirts of the globular at about 12 o'clock.
RGB 1.5 hours each in 30 min subs. Aspen CG16M on 20" PlaneWave. Field approx half a degree. Taken at half moon on a blistering hot evening with poor seeing.
