Pigs in Space! Nebula N90 around cluster NGC 602 on the Eastern edge of the Small Magellanic Cloud. The nebula is an extremely faint and challenging target, and much more exposure is needed to show it well.
The central brightest region is the nose of a flying pig, seen exactly head-on. The ears, haunches, and even a suggestion of a curly tail are present, There is an intriguing Mark-Of-Zorro style white scar on the pig's snout. To the right of the pig is a very faint but sharply demarcated bubble visible in OIII.
Yellow: H-alpha 8x30min. Blue: OIII 7x30min, both 2x2 binned. Field 36' across.
