Gum 41, a part of the SW Lambda Centauri nebula, in H-alpha. 5 hrs in 1 hr subs. We guess that this is a youngish star-forming region because it is very faint in OIII and SII (not shown). The general shape suggests the head of a cricket, comlete with eyes and mouth parts, or perhaps a spice-worm rearing up to devour. Aspen CG16M on 20" PlaneWave.
