In the SMC, we find a Mermaid's Pantry, a cavern surrounded by gently waving brown sea-weed. At centre, probably creating the cavern, is open cluster NGC 465, comprising perhaps 50 small hot stars. At 6 o'clock is NGC 456 in the shape of a blue strawberry with a yellow hull.. At 2 o'clock from 456 is a Hawksbury jellyfish, swimming to the left. At 2 o'clock from centre is the head of a dolphin, mouth agape, also swimming left. Note very faint [OIII] shock waves around a large bubble at about 1 o'clock, and another large super-faint H-alpha bubble around 8 o'clock. (The mermaid herself requires a lot of imagination but the two bright blue structures between 456 and 465 might be part of her). Yellow: H-alpha, Blue: OIII 3 hrs each.. Field 0.5 deg, North at right. Aspen 16M on 20" PlaneWave CDK.
