Gabriela Mistral, RGB "corrected for" SHO emission
The question was, what is the bluish "bolts-of-lightning" coming from the bright blue-white star under Gabriela Mistral's chin? Here we have used multilple linear regression to predict the RGB image from the SHO narrowband image. Excepting in the region of the lightning bolts, the goodness of fit was about 99.5 percent. Subtracting that predicted emission nebulosity from the RGB image yielded the current "corrected" RGB image, which should consist only of continuum radiation. It shows the "lightning bolts" to be continuum emission, presumably reflection nebulosity from distant shock fronts.
